What we're MAD about!

FRESH COFFEE is what The Mad Roaster Coffee Bean Company is all about. Fresh coffee roasted AFTER you order it, not before - that's our promise! We didn't roast it earlier this week; 2 days ago, or for that matter we didn't even roast it yesterday! The roasters that do this are truly few and far between, and yes you could probably count them on one - maybe two hands - at the most.

It works like this. You order today, we roast your order first thing tomorrow morning. It's packaged while it's still hot from the roaster and shipped to you based on your instructions.

If you've never had fresh roasted coffee, maybe you're wondering what the big deal is. The only way to find out is to buy some of our coffee, and to make it side by side with the stuff in your house, or even from the grocery store for that matter. We promise that once you've tasted freshly roasted, freshly ground, and freshly brewed coffee; you'll never go back to that other stuff. EVER!

That's not the only difference!

Not only is all that other coffee older and not as fresh than ours, it's definitely not the same quality either.

You see all of The Mad Roaster's coffee is carefully selected from the world's best coffee farms and cooperatives, bringing you the best darn coffee we can find. Chances are that other stuff you've been drinking is a blend of lesser beans, disguised as a good coffee. A very common trick in the coffee industry is to blend a small portion of good beans with mediocre beans and claim it's a great blend.

At The Mad Roaster, we start with really excellent single origin beans - so that when we mix one of our special blends, it truly is something special. Remember, we're mad about coffee, and that means you get the best there is. ALWAYS!

Small Batch Roasting!

Roasting in small batches allows us the ability to make minute adjustments to temperature, roasting time, heating rate, and cooling - which stops the beans at just the right profile. This results in a consistently superior tasting bean in every batch, ensuring the right development of flavour - individual to each origin.

With as many as 800 different factors that can impact your coffee taste from the originating farm to your cup, we can't stress how important it is to roast in small batches so that the best taste of each bean comes out. We don't just set a timer on the roaster and wait until it beeps. We're watching the colour, listening for the cracks, and monitoring temperature; all to ensure it comes out perfectly!

Very simply, your coffee is being crafted by an artisan, and not coming off a production line. ALWAYS!

The Best Packaging!

Okay, so we've established that we're mad about coffee, and that we go to great lengths to find the best beans and to small batch roast them to perfection. What good would all that be if we dropped those freshly roasted pieces of heaven into a paint can, sealed it up tight, and shipped it off to you? Absolutely none!

In fact we couldn't think of a better way to ruin a batch of freshly roasted coffee, than to package it without a one-way degassing valve. As you'll read elsewhere on our site, freshly roasted coffee emits CO2 gas, and that gas needs to escape without being replaced by air. The only way to do this is with packaging that contains the degassing valve made especially for the quality coffee industry.

Since we're mad about our coffee, mad about our quality-grown beans, even madder about small batch roasting, and yes - mad about our packaging, you can rest assured that the coffee delivered to your door is worthy of your trust and business! ALWAYS!

PS. Don't be fooled by those companies that pay the extra few pennies for the valve in each bag, all the while filling it with a mediocre bean. Unfortunately that happens all to often.

It's all about you - and your choice!

Here at The Mad Roaster we have trouble understanding how - so many businesses are out there, who don't give their customers more choice. Isn't that one of the advantages to living in this part of the world?

We've seen it all, really! First they tell you only a Medium or Full City Roast are any good, like as if you don't have your own taste buds. Then, they tell you it has to be shipped by airfreight - which costs you an arm and a leg!

So here at The Mad Roaster in the name of democracy and freedom, we carry 20+ excellent single origin varieties + 5 blends, will roast them medium or dark, grind them how you like or leave them whole bean, and we let you pick how your order gets shipped.

We let you choose as much as possible. ALWAYS!
